We here at JAPANiCAN.com have picked out a few of the hotels that have been highly rated by our customers, as well as a few that we think will become customer favorites, and listed them below.

*All prices listed are per night/per room for 2 guests.

There is even a drink service available in the lounge corner from 3:00 p.m. until midnight, offering free soft drinks and one free beer (and only JPY 200 per glass thereafter!). Yonaki soba noodles are also on offer in the lounge corner at evening - try them out if you feel peckish!

[1] The brown-colored lobby has a modern look and relaxed atmosphere.
[2] The room featured a semi-double bed with a Simmons mattress, which made for a great night's sleep. The room also had some pleasant touches, like an air purifier and clothes deodorizer spray.
[3] The breakfast buffet lets guests enjoy hot, grilled food.
[4] Having curry for breakfast is good for you, apparently! There was way too much on offer to be able to try it all in one day. I wish I could have stayed a couple more days...

Toyoko Inn Sendai Chuo Ichi-chome Ichiban

[1] I stayed in a double room. The mattress was firm and comfortable, and there was enough room underneath the bed to store large luggage.
[2] Conveniently placed at my bedside were a lamp and a thermometer, as well as the Toyoko Inn-exclusive guest magazine Tanoyaku, which featured articles in English, Japanese and Korean taken from an number of other publications.
[3 & 4] The Toyoko Inn offers a free breakfast, with each property having its own different choices. I went for onigiri rice balls and miso soup, but bread and coffee were also available.

[1] I stayed in a double room. The 160 cm-wide bed felt huge! I slept soundly on the firm, comfortable mattress.
[2] At my bedside was a stylish lamp. In fact, every room has its own, slightly different interior design.
[3 & 4] You can choose between a Japanese-style breakfast or a Western-style breakfast (pictured) with generous portions. Care is taken in the preparation, and the rice and vegetables served here come from surrounding farms. There is also a drinks bar from which you can help yourself.

This historical hotel is also known as the "Tohoku Art Hotel", thanks to the Chinese and European furnishings and art found inside.
The hotel is conveniently located for sightseeing in the center of town, with Hirose-dori subway station standing just outside and the main shopping district a 3 - 5 minute walk away.
As you would expect of a hotel of such long standing, the staff are attentive and friendly.

[Access] From Hirose-dori Subway Station: Take the #1 West Exit out of the station.
From JR Sendai Station: 12 min on foot / 5 min by car.

Koyo Grand Hotel

[1] The hotel lobby looks like it could be part of an art gallery. There was an overwhelming amount of art and furniture from Europe on display.
[2] I stayed in a twin room. The classic-style European furniture makes you almost forget that you are in northeastern Japan.
[3] I was given my own bathrobe and pajama to use!
[4] You can choose between a Western-style or Japanese-style breakfast; you will be asked your preference at check-in. You can enjoy a number of breakfast dishes.
