It goes without saying that seeing Mt. Fuji at least once is a must. You can visit the iconic (and volcanic) peak on tours or even climb it overnight to watch the sunrise from the top, but one of the most popular ways to enjoy Mt. Fuji is gazing at it from afar, particularly from a relaxing hot spring in the Fuji Five Lakes area for example. Below, find our top recommendations for hot spring-equipped inns and hotels that are ideal for taking in Mt. Fuji's splendor, listed in order of ratings given by JAPANiCAN.com customers.

"I honestly think this is the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms are incredible, the views are perfect, the onsen fantastic, the food and private rooms they have for the food delicious. The only stumbling block is the cost, so I wouldn't recommend staying here for more than a couple of days, otherwise the cost is too much to take. Definitely suitable for honeymooners and couples looking for a quiet getaway...More"
"Truly spectacular views if you are lucky enough to have clear skies (we were). We stayed in the room with a private outdoor "Onsen" bath during winter and spent literally hours soaking in the tub gazing in awe across the lake at Mt Fuji. Its a very romantic and special experience that can't be faulted, well worth the expense. The included banquet (in the restaurant) was superb. We also enjoyed the larger private bath...More"
"Amazing service. Breathtaking views of Mount Fuji. Place is a little old but service and experience more than make up for them. Will definitely come back if I have the chance and recommend to anyone...More"
"Excellent service, great view, great food. Great price. No surprises and the description does not lie. From the moment we arrived til the moment we left we felt welcome and comfortable. Everything was English speaker friendly. The room was the perfect temperature upon arrival and we had a great view. Dinner was great...More"
"The hotel staffs at Konansou offer a personalized experience, from hotel pick-up at the train station, recommendations on places of interest, afternoon Japanese tea with lakeside view in our room, to our very own private dining. Although the staffs speak limited English, they are very helpful. The lobby can be quite distracting with a showcase of souvenirs...More"
"On our short visit to Japan we stayed in this fantastic hotel for one night, everything was perfect, great location, very good and friendly service and we enjoyed having Japanese style food for dinner and breakfast. Additional to this we enjoyed the outdoor pool. They also have special observatory at the top floor and I was up early at sun rise to take a look and photos of Mount Fuji...More"
"Booked two nights here while visiting Fuji-Q amusement park and was not disappointed. Got upgraded to a wonderful room with a great view of Mt Fuji. The breakfast buffet was very nice with a great selection of different dishes, accompanied by the view of Mt Fuji on one side and the roller coasters on the other. Onsen bath access was included...More"
"This place was amazing! The staff was so friendly, and the service was top class. As soon as we checked in before we even got into our room, we were given traditional green tea with some japanese desserts. It tasted amazing. Had to buy some to take home! The room was nice and clean. We stayed in a Japanese style room with the open air bath...More"

"Hotel is set in lovely grounds overlooking Lake Yamanakako. The staff were very friendly and several spoke good English. Had a fantastic view of Mount Fuji from our balcony, hotel restaurants and the hotel grounds. One small nuisance was that guests are only provided with one bathtowel each in the room, which also had to be taken down for the onsen and swimming pool. However, overall an enjoyable stay...More"
"Friendly and helpful staff. The food was good although if you prefer Western style breakfast there are not many options. The common baths has one warm pool, one cold pool and a sauna. All in all a nice place to stay at for a couple of nights...More"
